TWC adds traffic

Local forecasts are put together by local cable operators, correct?

No, the content screens are based on a formula that TWC uses. I saw a website once that explained it, but I can't seem to locate it at the moment.

The data, of course, is all transmitted by TWC, and those of us on the satellite get a generic filler which shows conditions by region and forecasts for major cities.
______________

Yes, that's it. Why I couldn't think of it is beyond me.

This is the page I was thinking of to answer the original question:

TWC in San Diego

My Dad tells me that the TrafficPulse was added to the "Local on the 8's" a few months ago in San Diego. The other thing I noticed is that only the Lindbergh Field info in given for most of the "on the 8's" and a full report (with Miramar, Oceanside, El Cajon, etc.) is only shown at :18 and :48 reports. Any other cities do this?

I don't know if anyone's tried it, but you can download a Weatherstar 4000 emulator at www.taiganet.com. It's pretty sweet that you can customize a Local Forecast in the 4000 style.

Speaking of which, the short version of Chuck Mangione's "Feels So Good" makes great Local Forecast music.
______________
