TWC Buys Insight Cable

The price of acquiring Insight is about $5,300 per customer according to the article. ($4 Bn, 750,000 customers)

Does that seem a bit high to anyone else?

I can imagine how much per TWC subscriber is worth in New York City - where most things are a little exorbitant!

I hope Time Warner shows better judgement than Insight has in many areas...for example, a couple of years ago, Insight blew up one of the nation's finest, multiple award-winning in-house production departments at their Louisville hub solely because Insight Sales was full of incompetents who couldn't sell the outstanding programming coming out of the local origination production. Even when advertisers approached Sales wanting to sponsor the wide variety of programming being produced and were after full-season deals, they were turned away by Ad Sales...why weren't they fired?

This sales unit couldn't sell a furnace in Faribanks in February...yet their deviousness ( I believe they even brought Frank Magid and Associates, the king of cutbacks, in to do a self-serving, inaccurate report) cost Insight an outstanding production unit that served the company well and was a value-added plus to the subscribers.

The price tag on the deal is $3 billion. Wonder how much of that is Jeremy Lin money from MSG?
