TWC Sports Pass freeview for those who just lost MSG

Little mentioned in the spat between Time Warner Cable and MSG is that TWC had begun giving their customers in the areas affected by the MSG disappearance a month-long freeview of their Sports Pass tier. They started right after MSG was taken off the air. Channels that are part of the tier include Tennis Channel, ESPN Classic, Fox Soccer Plus, NHL Network and the Big Ten Network. They also gave a one-week freeview of the NBA League Pass package.

Just to give a heads-up, in case you're one of the folks affected by the dispute.

I guess this is a nice gesture, but it's certainly no consolation to anyone who is used to watching the Knicks or Rangers every night. It's not like these people are suddenly going to start watching tennis or soccer as an alternative ::)

Richard Sandomir from the New York Times reported that TWC has replaced MSG's signal with NBA TV, and MSG+ with NHL Network, for the duration of MSG's "lockout" with the cable carrier.
