TWC

With the snow storm in the Mid Atlantic I have been watching a lot of TWC today. Is it my imagination or are they featuring a lot more SJ?

It's NOT your imagination, Armando. They have been playing more Cjazz than they were just six months ago. Granted, I hear some stuff that has been historically out of place for the Local on the 8s feature. That said, perhaps there was a tremendous backlash from guys like us that kept them from canning the format completely. I am hearing new cuts from Chris Geith et al. Definitely not the way TWC used to be, but far better than I thought it would become after their announcement last year to move away from the format.

Yes!!

TWC is playing some good shit and I just downloaded this little jem from Paul Tegel with The Rotors????? lolol

I've been hearing TWC play this one all morning and just by luck tracked it down.

Too funny....Amazon can't even classify this music and places it amongst these genres...

Genres: Miscellaneous/General, Broadway & Vocalists/General, Pop/Easy Listening, Pop/General ;D I'd say it almost crosses into country bwtfdik!!

I have to believe the listeners made a difference here. The young TWC hotshot who came out and slammed TWC's format as elevator music underestimatesd just how popular TWC's was with viewers. So as I type, I am hearing The Who's "Eminence Front," which I actually like but not on TWC. But I have to believe there was a tremendous backlash/outcry when TWC pulled the plug on their traditional Local on the 8s format, as these kind of cuts have become fewer and farther between. It is VERY noticeable!!

Dude, also checked out "Quetzal" and "Marilla Road." This is the kind of stuff that made TWC's presentation so unique!! They could find a way to work stuff like this in on their Local on the 8s feature and not disturb the overall feel/vibe. Great find!
