TWC's New Logo

As tornadoes were moving through my state I decided to turn on The Weather Channel. I got Storm Stories and their new logo.

When I saw the new logo on TV I just laughed. It looks so budgetless.

I know there was a thread here about this earlier but any comments now that its on the air?
______________

So they didn't use any imagination. Just keep the girls on the air and get the forecast right and everything will be OK.

The funny thing is they paid big bucks to Landor, which is well known for doing up logos that could be done by a middle schooler in Photoshop in about five minutes.
Now if I could only get in on that scam!
______________

One word: dreadful!

What in the heck were they thinking?

The logo is lame and boring. I don't think the weather channel should have "Storm Stories". They show the same episodes a lot and plus it is primetime. Lots of people may want to tune in for the forecast before stopping for the night. Every time I need a forecast, the freakin' show is on!
______________

Good grief. The show is on 8PM-9PM and 11PM-12AM. And in my area at least they have the local forecast scrolling at the bottom of the screen throughout the show. It's shows the current condions, current temp, current humidity, forecast for the next day. The full-blown local forecasts are done at :29 and :59 past the hour during Storm Stories. And if Severe Thunderstorms or Tornadoes are in a particular area they always scroll "Sever Thunderstorms are occuring in such and such area. Follow Safety Rules". And they usually cover this first thing when they come back at 9PM and 12AM.

I still have to agree with Kevin. Storm Stories should be on Discovery Channel or TLC.

I don't know what some of you guys want......Believe me, if TWC had come up with something ground-breaking and fly, some of you would be on here to jam them for "cheapening their presentation" or some kind of goofy thing like that. Personally, I could care less about the stupid logo, and most of America couldn't give two hoots either.

I do get what some of you are saying about "Storm Stories". It was o.k. when it first came out, but when you see the same one for like, the seventieth time, its time to boot it and focus on the forecast.

You might call me crazy but is the logo all the bad? Its just a logo is all. I do think the one they had before was better. People will still watch The Weather Channel even with the new logo. Now for the new logo I thought they might of just went with TWC in the logo.

If they did that, they could re-image the network as "The Network For What's Happening In Your World", import a bunch of cheap reality shows from foreign countries, and run "Weather on the 58's", a two-minute national weathercast at the bottom of every hour. [/sarcasm]

Sorry, but THIS Kevin (the "K" of "KML0224") disagrees with you. Those two channel don't want to run anything that's informative (ha!) anymore! Today, "TLC" stands for "Total Lump of Crap." :)

Air1 (Educational Media Foundation) used to have a knock-off of the old logo on their site that read "Air1 Weather Report". Sadly, it's no longer on their site. The logo actually looks like it belongs for a specialty retailer, not a TV network.
______________
