"Tweaks" coming to CBC Radio 2

I've not been a big fan of Radio 2, since they've butchered it (IMHO) back in September. However, there appears to be tweaks on the way, beginning June 29th, which gives me a ray of hope that the people running the CBC actually listen to those of us who've complained.

Hopefully, the changes will give Radio 2 a more well rounded schedule and sound less like a college station. The part I really like is that Tom Allen will now have two daily programs and they'll allow him to play classical on both of them...yeah! I haven't seen the weekend schedule, however, the word is that classical music will now be heard in the mornings, 7 days a week. Maybe, just maybe, it'll be enough for me to venture away from favourite American classical station and give Radio 2 a try again.

I know a lot of people up in Vancouver who have been listening to KING-FM Seattle online for their classical fix since Radio Two ditched classical. A really bad move on CBC's part, but I also notice more and more reruns on Radio One and the plan is for MORE. That's not good either. The CBC is almost neck and neck with NPR as America's favorite public radio network (and personally, I think they're WAAY better.) And I'd really hate to see them lose that status. NPR could learn a LOT from the CBC in how to make a kickass public radio network. But these constant reruns on Radio One just aren't helping.....
