Twelve reasons why NBC is a last-place network

#13 hangs on to shows like The Office which are now getting about 1/4 of the audience
they once got.

#14 hangs on to shows like Community (which has a dedicated audience, it's just very small).

#15 Not willing to take a chance on something new. Just copy what is working for CBS, FOX, ABC.

#16 Puts NBC Non Stop on sub channel.......about as exciting as watching Fred Flintstone sleep.

Community has just recently been off the schedule. It hasn't been jerked around that much yet. It's not like Scrubs when NBC had it, where it was always poorly promoted and a red haired stepchild compared to NBC's Friends and Will & Grace. Every Will & Grace star hosted SNL, even though none of them were real movie stars.

Also two weeks ago, NBC tried something different. It had a Thu night without The Office, with 30 Rock at 9pm. Something very bold or experimental for NBC to do, since NBC rarely has ever dropped the lead Thursday sitcom of the night.

Ideally, NBC would allow a newer show that's not stale, like Parks and Recreation the 9pm timeslot while planning the retire of The Office, but The Office even without Carell, still manages to pull higher ratings than that, or any of the sitcoms NBC has tried.

NBC really does need a strong 10pm drama on Thursday. If only NBC didn't drop Southland for the Jay Leno Show., maybe Southland would have been it.

I was watching NBC today for the Super Bowl, and I have this to say. I still think NBC can be the comeback kid. Maybe not become the #1 network in America, but definitely rise above ABC. Why?

The Voice. I absolutely think that The Voice is just going to kill this season, especially with their accessible 8PM timeslot. It just seems that The Voice brings back all the original excitement and buzz that American Idol lost throughout it's run. If NBC is smart, they're going to use this at their advantage, like Fox did with American Idol. Because as we all know, if NBC brings in Idol or even X-Factor sized audiences on a week by week basis, they'll be able to push more NBC shows onto their viewers.

I would have made #1 - The Biggest Loser. That show needs to just go away.

The best show on NBC is Parenthood. The problem is they only air a new episode about once a month. Come to think of it, Parenthood is the only NBC show I watch.

Noticed lastnight NBC is moving Rock Center from Monday at 10pm to Wednesday at 9pm. Wasn't smart putting this show at 10pm Monday night in the first place going up against HI 5-0.
