Two Different Air Chains

Post a link. Probably several people would be happy to give a listen.

the second one is far superior to the first..less harsh more tone and much smoother ..not sure what your using..but keep the second settings..

Second one is much smoother and still yet crisp.

It lacks gain during the lower portions but isn't hissy like sample 1.

I guess I'd rather not hear the hiss, and excess high frequency data can only make for
more poroblems streaming.

if you teak the first one..give us another sample...technically tom would interested in the software and equipment your using i'm sure .if you'd like to post it..me too...

Okay, here's a Glen Campbell cut.

http://www.sendspace.com/file/senmqr

This air chain is as follows:
Izotope Vinyl at 45 RPM, 1980, Mono
Antress Modern Analoger at Preamp Emulator
Classic Equalizer at Warm Vocal with no saturation
Endorphin compressor at Deep M/S setting
Breakaway Basic at Zenith setting

Maybe it's the first compressor, which I added for some extra punch, that's adding
the harshness?

There's too much busy-ness and forwardness in the brushes for my taste.

Others will know more about the various plug ins than I.
Is everything really going in that order?
Something's ducking and pumping somewhere....

Have you tried using just Breakaway? Or Breakaway as the first processing? :)

I'm going to try a few different things later today. And if I can't nail it down, I'll go back to what I've been using. It might be the plugins that are pumping and such. Again, everyone's patience and assistance is greatly appreciated.

Well..lol..i didn't understand a bit of that...I use a fifty dollar piece of software from OTS audio..that sounds excellent ..it has five different dynamic processor setting as well as a master EQ...The same software is available as a free version...but every six songs in between cuts it will say 'OTS AUDIO"..with the pay version, i can disable that...really the only reason i tried it was because of the skin..looks like two turntables spinning..but the cross fading is dead on perfect...been using it for over five years with nary a glitch..i do wish it had reverb...suggested that to the ots people a couple of months ago..NOW..if anyone can advise me how to add reverb to my stream id love to do that..i add a touch on the mic through my board..but i don't have that option on the software..

ouch !! just listened and it was way too hot on ms media player had to back off the volume to almost nothing to as it was distorting..i think your trying to over do the audio...by putting it through too many hoops so to speak..i'm not an IT guru at all...but do know sound..and it sounds way too harsh with what your using..will your media player not work with just simply adjust the EQ a bit ??

they both sound good..but i still think the second stream in your very first sample was better...but my question now is..why are you wanting it to sound like an AM station in the 70's? YES..those were glorious days for those of us who worked them..but it's been so long since listeners heard a blow torch AM rocker..they have forgotten what it sounded like...they have been programmed to "hear' THE FM sound so to speak...to my trained ears...that does sound very good..similar to AM..but at the same time..still a bit on the harsh side..especially the high frequencies..what is missing is tonal quality..not necessarily your fault..as AM did not have that either at the time..though we didn't miss it..because we had never heard it ..

Well, I just scored a pair of Sennheiser earphones that normally run $60 at 75% off (that's $15 for those of us who slept through math class, lol) and I hear what everyone else heard in the new airchains, namely that they suck. I've come up with a new one that has a rock-steady AGC, no multiband clipping at all and no clipping whatsoever in the final output either. I'll have a couple
dozen tracks with it streaming by this time tomorrow.
