Two Episode Crossovers

Pewt peeve: Once in a while shows would do cross-overs in which the story started on one show (with guest appearances from the other show) and then conclude on a second show (with guest appearances from the first show). Many of those shows live on in syndication or streaming but the episode from the "other" show is not included. The two shows are almost always on the same network but may (or may not) have been produced by different studios. This gets to me. The cross-over episodes from each of the two shows should be included in the syndication or streaming package for both shows. I know there must be legal issues but if the producers could get together for the cross-over in the first place, they should be able to get together to exchange cross-over episodes. It would be to viewers' benefit and the producers'.

'Happy Days' filmed an alternate ending to an episode that originally involved a crossover with 'Laverne and Shirley'. They simply returned home, talking about how they'd managed to solve the problem, after all.
