Two KIRO-FMs?

Now that Bonneville has LMA'd KMCQ to simulcast 710ESPN, who gets the call letters? Will KIRO-FM be on 104.5 or stay on 97.3? Obviously this move hurts KJR AM while at the same time I guess helping KJR FM (one fewer oldies outlet.)

710 already has a great signal...wonder why they thought they needed 104.5 as well?

Is this an April Fools joke? If it is, it's the most brilliantly worded one, I've ever heard! I can find no sign of this anywhere!

This has been a very well kept secret.

No problem with the call letters. In many markets there are simulcasts creating this situation. In a PPM world it's not that important. Sportsradio KJR and KJR Oldies are in the same boat

It probably is, because i've been tuning in KMCQ's online stream reguarly today and it's still their regular programming.

TO the guy who asked me the offline question, sounds like in time for Mariner opening day at home...which is I believe around the 13th or so?

If this is true, it's about feakin time! The channel is a wasteland of non-talent, poorly processed, boring programming (sorry oldies lovers!). It has so much potential, but suffers with the little investment (iPod Shuffle) by the bankers who own it.

Just my little idea for waking up this sleeping board a bit. Happy April 1. Excellent answer, xmtrland! :D
