Two more locally owned stations GONE

That article is from May 8th of this year. Howintheheck did it not make news sooner? Nevermind, I see it was discussed already on the N. Florida forum. And what's this hint you're referring to… something on air at 104.1r? ???

It's just an update, as 104.1 is dropping hints for an announcement for a "huge leap to the left" with these two stations now bought back in May, I'm curious to where WABD will land on.. I'm guessing 92.9 since 102.7 is a cash cow.

They will make it at 7:20 Monday morning

I knew they were a Mom & Pop owned but thought they were locally owned.

With all the stations being sold by Pamal in the South, I'm wondering if they're looking to add a particular Albany station to their home cluster (maybe 1460 which is currently Radio Disney?) :)

Automation screwed up - they are moving back to 97.5 (wonder how they did that) been announcing it all night. Does this mean it will be 104.1 Krap-Love?

How? $$$.

My guess is Dittman wouldn't sell out to Cumulus or Cumulus wouldn't pay the asking price. So EMF swooped in and got 97.5, then Cumulus started sweet talking EMF about a swap.

Normally I would think it stupid to be so crazy over a danged frequency, since 104.1 has a better reach than 97.5 already. But judging by WABD's Facebook page, people here are so entrenched that 97.5 = CHR that Cumulus must think it's worth the money. Also, lots of badmouthing of K-Love on that Facebook page. Surprising.

The reach of 97.5 and 104.1 are pretty much the same. You get 104.1 a little further east because of stick placement. 97.5 get's into MS better because of 104.1 out of NOLA.

"Moving back" is not a good way to describe the plan, since WABD-FM is a different station with different owners and a different facility. The announcers who used to work for WABB-FM may be "moving back" to 97.5, but WABD-FM itself is not "moving back" since it never broadcast on that frequency before.

Well, none the less they are "moving back" to 97.5 - so the only small mom and pop station is 104.7 which sounds like total crap.. (probably failing equipment)

I hope they get back up and running. Despite I'm not a country fan, I do support small stations. (despite 100KW isn't small)

Maybe they will be in full stereo soon. Some of the music they play would sound totally awesome in stereo.

Back on topic, on the Alabama board, I started a thread, it looks like there's being a shift in stations - 104.1 - 97.5, 98.3 to 104.1 and 97.5 to 98.3 which is weird because this is only a 40KW station vs a 100KW station but their signal reaches further west so it will be a compromise Krap Love will make.
