Two more things I hate ....

  • Thread starter Julius Leonard Marx
  • Start date

TV Land has gotten particularly bad about jumping
around with episodes, or skipping over episodes.
For example, they just skipped a bunch of Andy
Griffith shows from 1963-65 (Gomer joining the
Marines, Jerry Van Dyke's guest shot, etc.),
and it seems they wanted to get to the color
episodes (why?) Also, they skipped over a
number of I Love Lucy episodes set in Hollywood
(Rock Hudson, Van Johnson, Cornel Wilde, Hedda
Hopper). Or did I miss these because they aired
in some daytime slot?

"Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" on TV Land!

'nuff said......

That channel, like most of Viacom's cable nets, has become unwatchable. Next they'll be peddling 'classic episodes' of "I Love New York 2" on TVL. Disgusting. Just disgusting.

Watch Entertainment Tonight. The credits go by so fast that it is totaly useless to even show them. It's not possible for anyone to read them. It's a blur.

I saw those credits roll by after hearing Mary Hart's and the other guy's singsong voice for about 10 minutes on night, and it almost gave me a fit. I know why Kramer got seizures from Mary Hart's voice on Seinfeld, but the credits at the end are as grating.

Okay, another thing I hate, not really national tv, but we don't have cable.
I'm sure that nationally, many other stations have the same disregard for viewers, or even cable networks do.

The local news in the mornings, on Fox50, between 8 and 9, they ran a promo for Judge Mathis for a many months at the same time every morning, right when kids are likely watching it, where he says "What the hell did you expect him to do?!" After a few days of the same time running, I got to muting it, and the same promo would pop up on the screen, muted.

Now, the same station runs promos for "Two and a Half Men" and nearly all of them include some reference to sexual gratification or the hell word or someone ridiculing someone else, between 8 and 9 in the morning.
