Two New Battles in Seattle

So what is your take on these two new battles:

Classic Rock KZOK with Danny B in the mornings versus CLassic Rock KMTT with commercial free music mornings and all music with no announcers during the day? My take is KMTT will do well in mornings as talk is split between KISW, KJR-FM and KZOK. KZOK left the door open with the Danny B move. KZOK may prevail during the rest of the day.

Country KMPS with Johnson and Johnson or Country KKWF with Fitz. This one is too close to call. Johnson and Johnson seem pretty good and the station is definitely more upbeat. Fitz seems to be slipping, but is still strong.
Hard battle to call. Am not a huge country guy, but find both stations listenable. With KNBQ gone, both stations should benefit.

The KNBQ share won't amount to much.

Danny B. admitted this morning that they had 3.... thats right THREE calls to the studio ALL LAST WEEK.
what does that tell you?

since less than 1% of listeners call in, that means KZOK mornings has less than 300 listeners.

in 6 months danny b. will be shipped on to the next CBS morning show in another market, to see if he can stick. KZOK/CBS, will then go to announcerless mornings, in an effort to match that great low budget move by KMTT/entercom. yawn........

Ugh.......

Same old tired stuff, now on three stations. It's a slug-fest for about 9 shares.

Meantime, KPLZ is laughing all the way to the bank. ;D

I've tried out Danny B. for the last week. It's "ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME"..In a talkie format where you have a loaded up studio, I have never heard a mic hog like this one. He always seems to have a personal, related story to tell about every single major or minor topic or utterance that comes across. This guy just bulldogs his way through the show. But the real bottom line for me is he's just hard on the ears. Probley will work OK for the sub 25 set though.

Well, here's my (early) take on DB. I really enjoyed him with Carolla, but, as I told my SO yesterday, having DB by himself now--vs. the 30% of airtime he may have had paired with Carolla--is like having chocolate cake 3 meals a day. Too much.
