Two new digi-nets coming to Hartford, CT

Merideth Broadcasting has signed an agreement to pick up digi-nets LAFF TV and ESCAPE TV for WFSB. LAFF is a Comedy oriented Network that is launching April 15th and will be showing sitcoms and movies. It will be on Channel 3.3 replacing Eyewitness News Now. ESCAPE is a female oriented network showing movies, Unsolved Mysteries, Forensic Files, and FBI Files. ESCAPE will be on Channel 3.2

Merideth is also picking up these 2 digi-nets (plus a 3rd digi-net called GRIT TV) in other markets as well.

No more Eyewitness News Now bad move by WFSB

They launched today as announced, but COX put ESCAPE on Channel 801 instead of LAFF-TV, but the on-screen guide shows the program listings for LAFF-TV for 801. 801 was Eyewitness News Now which was 3.3 which is why it should've been LAFF-TV.

WOW! Why did they get rid of Eyewitness News NOW? I did a rescan this morning and, sure enough, Escape on 3-2 and LAFF on 3-3. My mother actually called me and asked if Comcast made these changes. Nope! The antenna scan showed all of the above!

Merideth decided to finally add sub-channels on their stations across the country. They signed affiliation agreements for their stations across the country to add digi-nets including LAFF, ESCAPE, GRIT, and COZI. Channel 3 in Hartford got ESCAPE and LAFF. Channel 46 in Atlanta got GRIT and COZI. WSHM in Springfield got COZI.

Eyewitness News NOW was never current. I don't think they ever really used it as a bleed channel for breaking news.
