TWO New FM CPs.

Seriously, a translator when you can pick either station up from Wilmington south??? Please return us back to the 7-7-7 ownership caps.

Rumor is that CC is using these to broadcast their HD sub channels in analog, based on some previous posts on this board.

Before I can speculate (LOL), do translators have to simulcast another staion?
Yes, a translator does have to be a repeater of another station. Although that "other station" can be an HD subchannel.

without a doubt Clear Channel will be using these to simulcast one of their HD sub channels!

Oh yeah, I agree completely.

IMHO, the main economic reason they're even putting these translators up is to give WLW a spot on FM. Despite the personal feelings of many on this board about CC, they're not dummies and wouldn't put these translators up unless there was financial benefit in doing so. One of the translators might get something more experimental for this market (such as a Gen-X, Comedy 24/7, or some such). But experimenting is not CC's main purpose in adding these translators.

(And I have a thought on what their plan might be. But I'll let some other folks throw out their speculation first. ;D)

W292DT has been on for quite awhile, from the old "96Rock" / Beaver facilities in Hamilton, running the EMF "Air 1" format.

I can't imagine why CC needs a translator for WEBN in Greenhills.

My speculation is that CC wants them before someone else gets them. Isn't that why they own the whole AM band?

They do that here in Lexington... WLKT 104.5 HD2 is simulcasting on a LP 103.9 and is branded as WiLD 103.9 http://www.radio-locator.com/info/W280DO-FX
