Two new FM HD subchannels

Discovered this evening that KUHF has added an HD4 channel, apparently carrying the “Sight Into Sound” reading service that runs on their 67 kHz SCA subcarrier as well as on KUHT 8.5. This would be the first HD4 in the Houston market that I am aware of.

Also, KPFT has reactivated its HD3. It was running Doo-Wop/R&B Oldies while I listened, but no announcements. KPFT had an HD3 several years ago that ran BBC World Service, but it had been gone for quite some time.

I heard 88.7 HD4 a few days ago during tropo at night.

The lady reading was saying cusswords like f**k and s**t LOL I assume whatever she was reading had them and they don't care to edit them out.
I guess the blind have an advantage there while sighted people don't hear cusswords on air.
