There's two new non-comm sign-ons in west Alabama in today's digest. WMWI, the Miles College station licensed to Demopolis is on with a whopping 100 watts, and WKUA Moundville also received their license to cover. They run the Revocation Radio format that's on WKRE Argo.
Has anyone actually heard the Demopolis station? The only correspondence I've found is from 2009, mentioning Miles College planned a urban-tinged college format with a variety of talk and music. There's a "Miles Radio" link on the university's website but it won't play on my computer. I'd be interested to know if it's actually on or just a paper license. They'd originally filed for something like 18 kW but pared it down to just 100 watts, I guess to get it on the air before the permit expired.
