Two of Roy Henderson FMs Are Sold

Two FM stations that once belonged to Roy Henderson have just been sold. Radio and Records.com says that KTXM-FM in Halletsville and KYKM-FM in Yoakum have been sold to Kremling Enterprises for $ 250,000. I heard that still leaves three of Roy Hendersons radio stations still for sale -- KHLT in Halletsville, KIOX (use to be KEZB) in Edna and a station in Navasota.

Uncle Roy has a few more stations than that...and he always has a surprise or two up his sleeve. I wouldn't be too terribly surprised if he ended-up with a CP for an FM that covered B/CS, Huntsville, and Madisonville (and plenty more geography than that) . He'll make some $$$ off selling that one!!!

Kremling Broadcasting???? Hmmmm, If I am not mistaken, Laura Kremling was a one women show over there. Sales, traffic, on-air you name it! If she got the cash together to buy the stations good for her!

The Station in Navasota (KMBV) is currently off the air, so I think you are right. It's funny because Lonestar Country on 107.3 still has 92.5 on each of their liners, even though it is off the air.

I'd BE surprised if he got that CP...unless he moves something like 105.3 from its current location OUTward away from the Houston metro area...otherwise, being up the road toward BCS and DFW, there is not just any more room for station up that way (I remember Leon Hunt had to REALLY work to get 100.5 squeezed in)...
To cover BCS, UTS and the other areas would take a Class C1 minimum....just aint gonna happen with the current topography of the FM band and Part 73...
