Two ratings milestones

First: The Sopranos finale apparently got about 12 million viewers on Sunday night. That made it the #2 rated show of the week in all of television. It's the first time a show on a premium cable channel like HBO has finished so high. Only NBC's America's Got Talent had more viewers last week. http://www.mercurynews.com/tv/ci_6122865

Second: I noticed that on Tuesday, May 29th, My Network TV got a higher rating with a repeat of the Elton John birthday celebration than the CW got with their repeats of Gilmore Girls and Veronica Mars. Granted, we're talking about a 1.0 vs. a 0.9, but a win is a win - and My Network will take anything they can get. http://www.tvweek.com/ratings/052807.pdf

Good news for HBO. I wonder how 12 million viewers did what I did: cancel HBO Monday morning.

I'll miss watching the Wire, but I can't justify paying for something that I hardly watch.
