From Tom Taylor Now:
Anson Jones of ACJ Communications wants the construction permits that will be known as K231CG Waco and K248CQ Seguin, and he’s paying Wendolynn Tellez $10,000 cash and signing a note for the other $40,000. But the sale agreement says Jones also will “provide or pay for certain engineering services with regards to seller’s other translator permits” – ten of them, including three in Roma, Texas, and two in Rio Grande City. Looks like Tellez intends to upgrade them, and Jones will keep providing engineering services until the apps are filed. How about these two just-sold translators? They’ll re-broadcast San Antonio’s well-known Tejano KEDA/1540, owned by Claro Communications/Gerald Benavides. It’s currently using a different translator, one owned by Alicia Benavides (K272EK at 102.3). This purchase frees up 102.3 to be sold or leased out. In the world of Tex-Mex border music known as Tejano, KEDA is a genuine pioneer – celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.
