Two shockers at WALK radio this afternoon

Doing chores around the house and listening to one of my favorite weekend DJ's John Williams and got a surprise as he was signing off. He announced that today was his last day and that he was moving on to other projects. That was a surprise in of itself. The second surprise was in that in this day and age somebody actually got to say goodbye. Usually DJ's just disappear and that's all, yet even though he was a weekend guy he got to say goodbye. He thanked the audience for listening, thanked program director Rob Miller and assistant Patrick Shea for putting him back on the air after a long absence, and thanked his good friend and fellow colleague Holly Levis.
He was a pleasant guy to listen to on the weekend. Saturday afternoons sure won't be the same but kudos to WALK for allowing him to do something most radio stations don't allow these days.
 
Hi Glenn. Thanks for the information. Now can you please be kind enough to tell me if this is another weekend gig or if he has landed a full-time weekday gig?
 
Good for John. I enjoyed him back on Magic 943, then on WHLI (he trekked out west to Vegas for about a decade), before returning to Long Island for weekends at WALK (maybe a couple of years or so?).

I would've preferred him or Scott Miller filling in over "Best of Breakfast Club" reruns. That is, unless they REALLY went back in time to classic stuff from the David Weiss/Susan Murphy/Traffic Twins era (Bob Klein, anyone?). Heck, reairing the SkyWalk Traffic Twins from the eighties would be more accurate than the traffic reports they give now.

Hopefully, B-103 will have the brains to let John be John, & not just sit there for backselling songs (I used to call WALK to try to make requests).
 
Williams on B-103. Besides the union shops, B is the only station Barnstable seems to care about. Good that he'll be somewhere.
 
Speaking of David Weiss, has anyone seen or heard from him?
 
He does Ducks Baseball on WBZB and still does some work for Business Talk Radio and Lifestyle Radio Network.
I think he also does some other freelance work. In the past IIRC I've heard him on 1010WINS.
