Two stations for sale in DE/MD

A broker has listed two stations for sale in the general shore market. They're going at a very good price and cover much more area than the recent sold stations. The broker requires that potential buyers sign a nondisclosure agreement before his company will release information so I won't post the call letters here.

I saw them listed in Radiotvdeals.com

They are Great Scott stations, WZEB 101.7 in Ocean View and 106.1 in Pocomoke City which is currently silent. I was told a religious non-commercial group was looking at them. More over on the Maryland board.

If the Ocean view 101.7 goes silent, then that would help WJKS 101.7 get out better. I remember when I worked at 101.7 WNNN-FM (today's WJKS) and prior to the Ocean View station's existence, WNNN got out further down the Delaware and NJ coast.

Wow, Mike, they allow two stations on 101.7 that are, what, no more than 100 miles apart? That is weird.

The FCC routinely allows that for Class A stations. Co-channel class A's under FCC spacing rules can be as close as 115 km (about 71 miles).

The two 101.7's are even closer than that though- separated by about 63 miles. They must have some sort of short-spacing agreement.

I would bet money the two stations are from Great Scott. 95.3 and 106.1.
