Two years for 96.5

If I am not mistaken, its close to the two year aniversary that the point was blown up for Wild/Wired. I notice they have not set the world on fire with this format like many thought would happen. Their numbers are not that overwhelming, they had better numbers when they were WWDB, and only a point and a quarter better than when they were 80's and more WPTP.

You get the sense that They are not good competition in the urban market for Power 99Fm and Q102.

Alot of people say you start with your morning show and try and hold your listenership from there, people who are listening to the Urban style of music might prefer the big name, big show feel of Star N Buc Wild (Is Buc even on the show anymore?) I mean Star has been featured in a song by Jay-Z and on a national reebok commercial, he has a big time feel to him and his show.

I think Power hooks em in the AM and hangs on. Plus they dont have any Kelly Clarkson.

Many of us still snicker at the thoroughly ill-timed Beasley decision to drop the old WWDB-FM News/Talk format...the day BEFORE the 2000 election...the one that dragged on for a couple of months, remember? That would have been PERfect for a News/Talker...bread and butter...meat and potatoes!

We often refer to Beasley formatic decisions as "gramming"...cause there ain't no "pro" anywhere in them. :)

Wired 96.5 used to be the place to hear nothing but music and commercials in the morning. Now, they talk more in the morning, so I find myself flipping stations more often.

If only Q102 was in the Urban market and not the Hit Music market..

As hard as it seems to be for people to accept, Wired isn't in this for the Urban listeners either. I thought that had already been established here, like, a billion times?
