TX radio pioneer O.B. "Papaw" Johnson dies

I knew O.B. when I worked at KPRC in the 60s and 70s. He was a heckuva nice guy, and always fun to have around. Never at a loss for a joke.

The radio news department loved him because he always responded quickly when we had a problem and he either did the work himself, or made sure it got fixed quickly by someone else. The best station engineer I ever knew -- hands down.

Another FYI about his accomplishments. In the early 70s, O.B. and Paul Huhndorf were in charge of all the wiring and technical work that went into that KPRC building at 8181 Southwest Fwy.
