Tybee Island

I’m escaping Atlanta for R&R on Tybee. What‘s the best news/talk station to listen to while chillin’ on the beach? How’s the reception on the Island?

Theres Tybee Island Radio 1700, a part 15 radio station operated by a local resident there. I can't seem to find its website anymore so I don't know if it's still operating..

That's because Paul doesn't live/work in Georgia...but for some reason he believes he has to answer almost every question, even if he has no idea. The best News/Talker in the SAV/Tybee area is WBMQ 630am.

http://www.wtyb.com/

Theres the link. The site doesn't have a whole lot of information on it, but if you head over the the COmmunity Radio USA board... they can fill you in if you're interested.

I pulled up both sites. This is exactly what I needed - 630 for the usual syndicated stuff and 1700 for local flavor.

It looks like 630 has a local show (Ben Bennett) in the morning, so I’ll get a vacation from Boortz while I’m on vacation...

Thanks!

If/when you get a chance to listen to WTYB, Id love to know what you think. Im not associated with them in anyway, but Im curious as to their on air product interms of how they sound and what they do.

Thanks!

WTKS 1290 has a local morning show, but the rest of the schedule is pretty much syndicated. WOKV 690 in Jacksonville puts a decent signal into Tybee, but outside of AM Drive they're syndicated, too. Turn off the radio and enjoy the beach!

WBMQ 630 has :
Bill Bennet
Ben Bennett (local)
Laura Ingram
Bill O'reilly
Sean Hannity
Mike Reagan
Mike Savage

WTKS 1290 has:

Bill Edwards (local)
Glenn Beck
Rush Limbaugh
Neil Bortz

Pretty close to any conservation show you can stand.

I'm a talk radio junkie. I'll be on the beach with a cold beverage and headphones on while the wife bakes in the sun...
