Tyler Cox to return to WBAP

Thank god! In my honest opinion, Tyler kept the station sounding fresh and interesting! At least he's back before the station could tank.

When Tyler was with ABC previously, I believe he oversaw operations for the old "Memories" and "ESPN Sports" but not WBAP. My understanding is that now he'll have complete control over all of the local Citadel stations.

Tyler was the operations mgr. at WBAP that managed the remarkable transition from news/country to news/talk without skipping a beat in the ratings. He then launched ESPN and oversaw Memories as station mgr. for both before he went to KRLD and then to Salem.

Agreed! Tyler Cox knows programming. It was a waste for him to go to Salem with a stop at KRLD when Bigby was there. Shomper inherited Cox's success at WBAP and didn't really do a thing. Now if only Kerri Littlefield would leave when Citadel takes over,Tyler will have the station exceeding anyone's wildest dreams.

Tyler Cox returning to WBAP already has the phones here at 'BAP ringing so hard they're practically levitating. No need for the snide digs at Kerri Littlefield, however. If you guys knew our profit margins, you'd know she's worth her weight in gold. Don't be sheeple. Don't be 5 percenters. JUst be glad Tyler has returned. I can honestly tell you I have a fuller, thicker head of hair now than I did when I was 18 years old!

I always liked Kerri...never got to know her real well when I worked at KSCS, but everyone seemed to think highly of her.

WBAP and KTCK consistently have the top 2 power ratios in the market. So for those of us that realize while it may be art, it's also a buisness, that means they're good at the buisness...

Kerri had the gall to bluntly tell some employees there NOT to apply for a higher position when one opened up,because they wouldn't be considered. NO I wasn't among them. That was rude no matter how you slice it. Kerri is only held in favorable terms among a few not many who grace the bldg. on Lamar. None the less it was a damn smart move to bring back Tyler. A little more weeding of the managerial staff and WBAP under Tyler's leadership will zoom to the top.

This is fantastic news for WBAP and radio listeners in the DFW market! Tyler is one of the best people I have ever worked with. I was surprised and disappointed when he went to KRLD. I couldn't quite understand why he took the job at Salem. I figured some day he'd wise up and go back to WBAP. I doubt he'll leave before he retires.

I don't know Kerri but I would consider it a professional courtesy to be informed that it was a waste of time to apply for a position that I was not in the running for. Better that than be b.s.'d into thinking I was being considered for a promotion I had no chance at.

Re: Tyler Cox to return to WBAP Dan Potter gone

So many stories ,rumors are pouring out of the blding about Dan Potter. He was let go after 15 years BUT how is the subject line. One was they simply refused to renew his contract, the other he was fired and went off on Kerri and few others, etc. Has anyone had time to sort this out and know what the real deal was?
