Book reults due out later this week. Any thoughts on how they might turn out? Lot's of changes this time around:

1) KDOK goes talk and calls are picked up by GAP and moved to the am dial.
2) JACK leaves town and turns talk
3) First full book in CHR format for the Breeze
4) Ryan Seacrest put on afternoons on MIX

You will note that the public "12+" ratings do not include any non-commercial stations. Those are only revealed to subscribers and if you are a NCE, you can get them a couple of weeks later from Radio Research Consortium. (RRC) Those results might surprise some people if they knew about them. Several NCE stations are quite popular.

I failed to mention another change in the market for this book:

Brandon Michaels put on mornings on KYKX in place of Danny & Dru...also KYKX voicetracking mid-days and afternoons. Mornings was the only "live" shift for KYKX for the first time this book.

Well, The Ranch has had changeover. Maybe won't make a difference.
Lets see.
Chuck McKinley gone after 8 years, 4 in the pd chair.
Mandee Montana went to afternoons.
Charley O in Middays. 5 or 6 different middays persons in 6 months.
Music has been changed.
A very consistant station has been made made inconsistant. Destablized.
Dru LaBorde is programming it now.

Well, Jethro, it appears we now have a probable cause of death. I only hope, for her sake, it was fast and painless.

These changes are all true...however they all happened at the end of the spring ratings book, so they won't be reflected in this book.

I was thru E Tx the other day and heard Charlie O' Randy on both the Ranch and KYKX. He sounded terribly out of place. Randy's a realllly good jock, but the country just doesn't fit him at all...SOOOO, let's put him on TWO country stations.

Attention all KYKX haters.....we may all agree or disagree with some decisions made by Dru in the past. However let's all keep in mind that Dru is an employee and has to compromise personal and professional decisions due to never ending budget cuts. That said I would like to send much love, a pat on the back, and a sincere good luck to all the folks over at the ETRG both on air and behind the curtain for hanging on in today's radio market and economy. It can't be easy going to work everyday wondering " who's next". Just my two cents!

Dru needs to hang it up and go over to the mic at Dairy Queen. He may "bond" nicely over there.

A weak attempt to inspire........if Dru ends up at Dairy Q at least you two will have some quality time to hang out with each other. Just my two cents.

1) Its probably too soon, but I predict the new KTBB-FM will drop quickly unless Arbitron lists it as a dual simulcast deal, especally now that Smoakie's gone.

And because KDOK 1240 just covers Longview/Kilgore (though GAP has done a great job improving it's sound quality and signal - it's really booming now - I could pick it up in Marshall during the day last week) I hope 1240 will pop up in the book.

2) Another bonehead move by Rusty for 99.3. What a waste of a fine signal. This has become the new 103.1.

3) I hope The Breeze does much better this book. The local jocks are finally starting to sound conformable and they have done a good job of incorporating Dial Global's "Hits NOW" format into the automation.

4) I doubt Seacrest will make much difference, it's more plug and play programming.

Don't take it personal Hitman, its just that one of the finest signals in the state is going down as fast as the Titanic and the one factor is Dru. Opinions are like a#%holes everyone has one. That one is mine...

I doubt very seriously that Rusty has made ANY decisions in the last few years in regards to his properties (or much of anything else). Mr. Reynolds is in no position to be "calling the shots."

The dispatcher at the local cab company has more common sense and programming abilities than Dru . Dru is Texas Workforce bound soon. As for myself Hitman,I gues you are an employee of his or an associate. Ok np there, but don't let it blind the obvious, Dru has no passion or respect for people and radio in particular.

I just confirmed that Dru has been named the Operations Manager for East Texas Radio Group. How long did it take the Titanic to sink?

If this information is correct, then the death certificate has been signed and all that's left to bedone is to carry away the bodies of the stations involvee. Dru would have to clean up his act considerably before he would even be admitted the the workforce commission office.

Wow..........Dru is now Operations Mgr. for all four stations of the East Texas Radio Group. I guess his employment at Dairy Queen and the cab company will have to be put on hold.
