Tyler-Longview Ratings

Just saw the 12+ number for the Fall Book in Tyler-Longview on All Access.

KNUE is #1 for the first time in a long time. To my knowledge, it's the first time a non-urban station has been number one in the market in at least 5 years (maybe longer). KISX and KBLZ had been trading spaces between first and second for the longest time.

Another interesting note - the two Hispanic stations in the market didn't show up very well in the Fall book either.

Great book for KNUE. That's a pretty big drop for Hot 107.3, and the Blaze is actually up a little bit (although down from last year). There've been some odd changes on the Blaze in the last year, looks like they've moved it up a little. 96X is 4th and KTYL has falled down a half a point, but I don't see any major changes otherwise.

On the talk side, KTBB's AM is up, although still down from last year. KTBB flipping their FM to ESPN seems to have worked, they more than doubled to a 2.9. 99.3 getting the Cowboys doesn't seem to have made them any less invisible, though.

Not surprising to find KNUE on top again considering Amy Austin is back at the helm. I had the wonderful privilege of being part-time back in the spring of '95 when KNUE posted a 21 share that book.

Great to see Amy restoring the magic of KNUE.

Or could it be that Townsquare Media is the only group that is buying the Arbitron ratings these days?? ETEX radio group dropped them 5 years ago, Waller dropped them, Reynolds dropped them.

So good marketing strategy....Buy the ratings Townsquare and your stations will be on top!!

Townsquare has had at least two or three of their properties on top for a long time now - even when all the other companies did subscribe to Arbitron, so I'm not sure that is a legitimate argument.

Actually neither waller nor ETRG have bought the ratings in 5 years go 5 years back and Reynolds' Blaze was number one KOOI was number 2 KOYE Number 3, KKUS number 4, then was KNUE and KTYL!

Would love to know what book you are referring to. If what you say is true, then 5 years ago would be the Fall '06 and GAP, Reynolds, Waller and ETRG all subscribed.

12+ rankings were:

KNUE and KISX tied for 1st with 8.1
KBLZ, KKUS and KTYL tied for 3rd-5th with 6.9

I also don't believe that either Waller or ETRG have not been Arbitron subscribers for that long.

Sorry the first thing Rick Guest cut when he took over were the Arbitron ratings because it made no sense to spend 100k a year for 5 stations.
