Tyler-Longview Ratings

Some observations about Tyler-Longview ratings that just came out this month:
Radio Industry News, Radio Show Prep, Radio Promotions, Radio Station Data, Podcast News

KVNE has been doing very well now for the past year and a half. How much of that could be due to the lack of an AC station? I recall that KLTY in Dallas ranked quite high when Dallas was without an AC station. KTYL leans CHR now. So there isn't really an Mainstream or Hot AC station in the area. AC would be a good format for someone to launch.

It'd be nice to see 99.3 get above a 3.0 share. Maybe they can tweak it.

KKUS at 2.2 share = Ouch

KTUX (Shreveport) shows up as a 1.0. They tend to show up around that range regularly. That's just as high as when they were Active Rock. Ever since KTUX flipped to Classic Rock, they have played the exact same songs in the exact same order as KKTX. KTUX can only be heard on the eastern side of the market, but KKTX has the superior signal there. Those ratings seem kind of high for what amounts as the virtually the same radio station but on a weaker signal.

Perhaps the KTUX numbers are coming from Walton and Johnson listeners. KTUX has carried Walton and Johnson since they flipped to Classic Rock. KKTX started to carry Walton and Johnson at the same time as KTUX but dropped them a few months later and brought John Boy and Billy back.

Just some observations, I could be wrong.
