Tyler OFF the radio - and Ken too

PD/mornings Tyler Ryan and morning show partner Ken Heron OUT at WWNU. GM Chuck McKay is looking for airchecks and resumes.

Scoring a solid 1.6 12+ in the trends released Monday, while WCOS scores their highest 12+ in years, will not save your job as a PD OR a morning guy.

Is a format flip on the way in the next few weeks? Or do they limp along for another couple months?
 
I wonder when this took place. I have really noticed that WCOS plays a better variety of music and really thought that Tyler and Ken were really lame. I just wonder if we are going to see either a format flip which could not hurt or better management there.
 
I cannot disagree that they deserved it. If you ever listened to them, you would have understood how bad that they really were. It is sad that Jonathan Rush was kicking their butts because he is a top 40 jock in a country station and doing quite well for himself. That station has never been what the management and owners have ever wanted or dreamed it would be and flipping formats might be the best thing that they could do for it right now.
 
I never knew or had an opinion about Tyler and Ken but I do know this: If you've already in some way pissed off management and the numbers come in and they're bad, you're really on thin ice and subject to immediate dismissal. Of course, these days e-v-e-r-y-b-o-d-y is subject to immediate dismissal!
I was thinking of applying but after reading some of the comments about the place, I have reservations.
 
if their clip I heard today (talking about Carrie Underwood) was actually
on-air, they have a big problem: many f-bombs, and totally disgusting.

if it really aired...they will never work again.

Apparently they were voicetracking their Saturday show and thought they replaced that file with a real one...they blame it on the computer at www.tylerandken.com. It's one thing to make a bad mistake but do some damage control and just let it die! Don't glorify it!
 
The best way to keep from having things go out over the air that shouldn't be said is don't say them. Sure everybody has an occasional slip up or mistake but that didn't sound like a slip up or mistake just saying what they want to and not caring if anybody hears them, if you never want it heard then don't record it.

i read the explanation. what arrogant losers. blame it on the computer and blame it on the engineer for not fixing it and then put down carrie underwood fans. what about the average listener who is offended by talk like that? i think that whoever was running the computer forgot to delete the break and is too lame to admit it. i hope carrie underwood sues them.
 
It's nice and quite, for now, around the ranch. So much speculation. Interviews begin today...Sunday. Possible format changes and more. Nothing in stone yet. Anyone looking for a 35 year vet part time universal guy? LOL Have a great day all.........
