Typical schedule for an NBC daytime station (using WHDH-TV as example)

5-7 am: 7 News Today In New England
7-9 am: The Today Show (first 2 hours)
9-10 am: Live! With Regis And Kelly
10 am-12 Noon: The Today Show (last 2 hours)
12 Noon-1 pm: 7 News
1-2 pm: Days Of Our Lives (NBC)
2-4 pm: 7 Afternoon Movie (Lifetime-type movies; many originally having aired on that channel)
4-5 pm: Jerry Springer (main episode; from co-owned 56, which will continue to air recent reruns)
5-6:30 pm: 7 News (no need for a 2 1/2 hour newscast IMHO)
6:30-7 pm: NBC Nightly News (Brian Williams)
7-7:30 pm: Access Hollywood
7:30-8 pm: EXTRA

Besides the "Springer" rerun, 56 would keep "Maury" and get "Family Feud" from co-owned 7 and the new talk show starring Springer's bodyguard Steve :D

Good point. WVIT-TV (NBC) channel 30 of New Britain/Hartford is an NBC O&O. However, Regis airs here on WTNH-TV (ABC) channel 8 of New Haven.

For the record, here's WNBC's schedule for tomorrow:
5am - Today In New York
7am - Today
10am - Martha
11am - Queer Eye
Noon - iVillage
1pm - Days Of Our Lives
2pm - Passions
3pm - Judge Joe Brown x2
4pm - Ellen
5pm - Live at Five
6pm - News
6:30pm - NBC News
7pm - Extra
7:30pm - Access Hollywood

KNBC is identical except:
11am - News
11:30am - yourLA
3pm - Queer Eye (just in time for the kids getting home from school)

Why the hell are the NBC O&Os starting to air Queer Eye? There are other programs to choose from in their collection than something that destroys the brain.

Im pretty sure just about everything NBC shows will destroy the brian. And I don't think showing Queer Eye reruns in the afternoons are going to "make the kids get the gay."

And Regis is known to air on many ABC O&O's to boot.

At least your example of the typical NBC schedule didn't include "Geraldo at Large"...

Hi everyone:

That's not typical. You should use an O&O if you are trying to be typical.
Or AT LEAST an affiliate that doesn't BUTCHER The Today Show as outlined below

WHDH has to be the only affiliate IN THE COUNTRY that does this. I know KUSA 9 here in Denver doesn't.

Cheers :D

I don't know what constitutes a "typical"
NBC affiliate daytime schedule, but here's
WXIA/11 Alive Atlanta's:

5 AM 11 Alive News Today
7 AM Today
10 AM Martha
11 AM Atlanta & Company (one long series
of infomercials disguised as a talk
show)
12 N 11 Alive News At Noon
12:30 Who Wants To Be A Millionaire
(while WSB and WAGA each do
an hour of local news)
1 PM Days Of Our Lives
2 PM Passions
3 PM Rachael Ray
4 PM Who Wants To Be A Millionaire
4:30 Jeopardy!
5 PM Dr. Phil (11 can't compete head-on with
WSB and WAGA's 5 PM news, neither can
CBS affiliate WGCL, which runs Ellen DeGeneres
and has a 4 PM newscast)
6 PM 11 Alive News At 6
6:30 NBC Nightly News
7 PM The Evening News With Brenda Wood
7:30 Wheel Of Fortune

Here in my neck of the woods, where the local NBC station controls the Fox and ABC affils, I don't know how they are going to manage their schedule, when Today expands to 4 hours, since they keep all the "good" syndicated programming for themselves and shuttle all the second-tier over to Fox27 (with the exception of Entertainment Tonight and The Insider) and the third-tier over to ABC45.

WTVA - Current
5:30 - The Morning Show
7:00 - Today
10:00 - Live! w/Regis and Kelly
11:00 - Jeopardy!
11:30 - Who Wants To Be A Millionaire
12:00 - WTVA News Live at Noon
12:30 - Days Of Our Lives
1:30 - Passions
2:30 - Inside Edition
3:00 - Dr. Phil
4:00 - Oprah

Here's what I see:

WTVA - proposed
5:30 - News
7:00 - Today
11:00 - Live!
12:00 - News
12:30 - Millionaire
1:00 - Days
2:00 - Jeopardy! (or Inside Edition)
2:30 - Inside Edition (or Jeopardy!)
3:00 - Dr. Phil
4:00 - Oprah

11:00am seems a little late for Live, especially since most of the market's cable systems carry multiple network feeds from neighboring markets (northwest gets Memphis, north and northeast get Jackson, TN, south and southeast gets either Meridian or Jackson, MS) where Live airs at 9:00am.

They could shuttle Live over to ABC45 to air after Good Morning America, which would leave them an hour to fill, probably pulling either Martha from ABC45 or Ellen from Fox27 (or, perhaps, adding Rachel Ray - which isn't airing in the market)

WTVA - proposed 2
7:00 - Today
11:00 - Rachel Ray (or Martha or Ellen)
12:00 - News
12:30 - Millionaire
1:00 - Days
2:00 - Jeopardy/Inside Edition
3:00 - Dr. Phil
4:00 - Oprah

Or give it up completely and let WCBI pick it up for airing in their under-utilized 9:00am hour after The Early Show:

WCBI - Current
5:00 - Sunrise
7:00 - Early Show
9:00 - Infomercial
9:30 - Family Feud
10:00 - The Price Is Right
11:00 - Y&R
12:00 - News
12:30 - B&B
1:00 - As The World Turns
2:00 - Guiding Light
3:00 - Christina's Court
4:00 - Judge Alex

WCBI - proposed
5:00 - Sunrise
7:00 - Early Show
9:00 - Live!
10:00 - The Price Is Right
11:00 - Y&R
12:00 - News
12:30 - B&B
1:00 - As The World Turns
2:00 - Guiding Light
3:00 - Christina's Court
4:00 - Judge Alex

Oh well, all in the realm of possiblity, I suppose. Though my money is on WTVA punting Live over to ABC45.

I live in Janesville WI and can receive the NBC affiliates out of Madison and Rockford, here are their schedules:

15 WMTV Madison
5a-7a - NBC15 The Morning Show
7a-10a - Today
10a-11a - Martha
11-11:30 - NBC15 News at 11
11:30-12 - Family Feud
12p-1p - Days of our Lives
1p-2p - Passions
2p-3p - Dr. Keith Ablow
3p-4p - Rachael Ray
4-4:30 - NBC15 News at 4
4:30-5 - Jeopardy!
5-5:30 - NBC15 News at 5
5:30-6 - NBC Nightly News
6-6:30 - NBC15 News at 6
6:30-7 - Wheel of Fortune

13 WREX Rockford
5a-5:30 - AgDay
5:30-7a - 13 News Today
7a-10a - Today
10a-11a - Live! With Regis & Kelly
11a-12p - 700 Club
12-12:30 - 13 News at Noon
12:30-1p - Jeopardy!
1p-2p - Days of Our Lives
2p-3p - Passions
3p-4p - Martha
4-4:30 - Who Wants to be a Millionaire
4:30-5 - Joepardy!
5-5:30 - 13 News at 5
5:30-6 - NBC Nightly News
6-6:30 - 13 News at 6
6:30-7 - Wheel of Fortune

Here is what 7 SHOULD look like (but won't):

5 a.m.: 7 News Today In New England (2 hours)
7 a.m.: The Today Show (4 hours/NBC; Regis and Kelly will head to 56)
11 a.m.: Family Feud (1 hour)
12 Noon: 7 News (1 hour)
1 p.m.: Days Of Our Lives (1 hour/NBC)
2 p.m.: Jerry Springer (main episode/1 hour)
3 p.m.: Woody Woodpecker (Why not? After all, like Springer and Access Hollywood, NBC owns the classic toon character)
3:30 p.m.: The Bugs Bunny Show (complete with the "On With The Show This Is It" theme)
4 p.m.: Family Guy (56 reportedly owns the rights here -- should go over to 7 but won't; 1 hour)
5 p.m.: 7 News (1 1/2 hours; no need for a 2 1/2 hour long newscast IMHO)
6:30 p.m.: NBC Nightly News With Brian Williams
7 p.m.: Access Hollywood
7:30 p.m.: EXTRA

Is there anyone who seriously disagrees with me about the afternoons being a decent lineup? Especially as opposed to Oprah (which, according to MAD Magazine, means "obeseity" in Ebonics) and Dr. Phool IMHO! ::)

How about Seattle. Here's KING-5's current schedule:

5-7AM: KING5 News
7-10AM: Today
10-11AM: Tyra
11AM-12Noon: Ellen
12Noon-1PM: KING5 News at Noon
1-2PM: Days Of Our Lives
2-3PM: Passions
3-4PM: Dr. Phil
4-5PM: Oprah
5-6PM: KING5 News at Five
6-6:30: NBC Nightly News
6:30-7PM: KING5 News at 6:30
7-7:30PM: Inside Edition
7:30-8PM: Evening Magazine

Now, if "Today" goes 4 hours, KING-5/Seattle's schedule would probably look like this:

5-7AM: KING5 News
7-11AM: Today
11AM-12Noon: Days Of Our Lives
12Noon-1PM: KING5 News at Noon
1-2PM: Tyra
2-3PM: Ellen
3-4PM: Dr. Phil
4-5PM: Oprah
5-5:30PM: KING5 News at Five (Reduced to 30 minutes to compete with KOMO-4 and KIRO-7)
5:30-6PM: NBC Nightly News (Moved from 6PM)
6-7PM: KING5 News at Six (Expanded to a hour to compete with KOMO-4 and KIRO-7)
7-7:30PM: Inside Edition
7:30-8PM: Evening Magazine

Hate to tell you but C&C is just a giant infomercial. Every guest who is on the show pays to be there and push their product. Infact Colorado and Company was the model that Ganett has used on their other stations including 11 Alive in the ATL.
