UBroadcast Question???

Hey everybody I have a quick question for the group... I was looking at UBroadcast and I am curious if anybody has used it here... What are the advantages or disadvantages to using it as opposed to Shoutcast or live 365? What is the cost to stream... That is the one thing that is hard to find on their website... CC1

I haven't used it, so it took some searching to find your answer.

The service is free. It appears to be more for casual/not-quite-professional webcasters
but at first glance, it looks like it would be fairly easy to set up and use. They also allow you
to have commercials on your Ubroadcast station.

I didnt like Ubroadcast, the sound quality is very nice, but there are hardly any stations on it, net along listeners. I dont like that you have to download the software first to even see what stations are available.

Its easier to set up a station on Slacker.com and make a myspace for it, and post your link in public forums, you get alot more listeners, and listener's can even skip songs, you dont need a live constant stream since you basically just customize a playlist and it stores it in the software. You could have 100 people listening at the same time, and everybody would be hearing different songs at the same time. Your PC could be turned off, unplugged, disconnected from the net, and people can still listen to your station. The only thing is you cant add imaging, or talk, but web listeners dont care about that anyway.

Hey Clubber... Thanks for your reply... Did you have your own station or were you just a listener??? What is the Kbps they allow? Was there any cost? When I tried to find an answer on their website I could not find it.... I have the software loaded, but when I saw where it required a CC I quickly put on the breaks... If something is free there should be no need for a CC..... CC1

Its free, no need for a CC unless you get the premium service. The Sound quality is supposed to be CD quality and often is, but sometimes older music sounds under modulated.
