Ugh!!! PSAs at night!!

Why do so many FM stations put Public Service Announcements, Help Wanted ads and Cupid.com ads at night? This is serious!

What else do you expect them to air? After MidNite with Blair Garner has so many minutes of avails that must be filled. If there is no paid inventory, then something has to be put in the slots.

Some stations air a lot of PSAs all day.

Some stations are obviously not selling the airtime available on their satellite-fed syndicated crap, or the syndicators are not filling their commercial avails.

True dat, Sir, and it sounds kind of sad.
I always thought they could at least fake up some spec spots for fake restaurants or bars or something, just to check and see how much buzz they could get. Like the old Hiney Wine commercials, or the Gene with a J Jenkins with a G fake political ads some local stations did around here in the 80s.....

I'd rather hear the PSAs than infomercials or the network ads for Dial a Psycho (Ok, psychic, but what's the real difference??? ::) ) or ads for questionable junk where they keep repeating the toll free number, keep repeating the toll free number, KEEP REPEATING THE TOLL FREE NUMBER!!! ::)

exactly......ESPN Radio has the most commercial time of any of the national networks/shows (almost 20 minutes some hours)... I don't know many AM's that can sell 15-20 minutes of commercial time 24/7
