ughhh, another CHR station in NJ, this time on 101.5

nd2023

New Jersey 101.5 is going to be abandoning its longtime talk format and is going to flip to CHR, the station will be called 101.5 Jamz. There are only 9 CHRs receivable in NJ, 101.5 will be the 10th. It makes perfect sense to tap into the large audience underserved by a Top 40 station in the most densely populated state. Trenton itself has only 2 competitors to 101.5: 94.5 PST and pirate station 92.9 The Beat, I'm sure 101.5 will beat both of them. In order to cut costs, Millennium will fire all of the staff and simulcast 101.5 Jamz from Phoenix, AZ on WKXW.

And the mayor of Boston is dead.

Try again next year!

The day NJ 101.5 flips to any format is the day 92.9 gets an FCC license.
Don't look now, but I just saw a construction permit issued for 92.9 in Trenton, NJ! Call letters are WBTT, power is 2000 watts, location is the old 97.5 tower.

Well, at least we're losing another CHR at the same time. I have it on high authority that G-Rock is returning to 106.3/106.5 at 3 PM today. Matt Knight will be going back to evenings, while Nik Carter, who just left WRXP, will take over middays. Also, starting next week, another current WRXP host, Brian Phillips, will be leaving that station to reunite with Jen Ursillo for the morning show. Erin Vogt will host middays.

Right now they're stunting with a loop of "Never Gonna Give You Up".

OK.. I know it's April Fools day... but you might want to be a bit more subtle than that...

So Trenton will have a simulcast of Fort Meyers, FL's "105.5 The Beat."   8)

I would've believed it if the call letters were "WTBT"  :D

Last year, it was NJ 101.5 flipping to Oldies.

Whatever. ::) The intended "shocking" part of the "joke" is that 101.5 was switching formats PERIOD. The fact that last year it was that they were switching to oldies and this year it was CHR doesn't mean that they were "different" April Fools jokes.

That was definitely an April Fool! I tuned in 101.5 just now. Same old talk format.

Yesterday, 101.5 really was a rhythmic CHR station -- Party 101.5.

I managed to pick up the W268AN translator in NJ yesterday morning, only the second time I have been able to do so. And I wasn't even by the ocean, I was on top of a parking garage. That little 10 watt signal traveled 50 miles.

hot1005.com is a station in Virgina beach. Must be good tropo if it could be heard in the Point Pleasant area.
