Uh Oh! Could Glenn Beck be siouxed?

I love Moron Trivia but, they advertise a station called "the big frog 109-9. Now, in Pittsburgh, we have the Froggy radio stations. As a matter of fact the contestant mentioned Froggy 94.9 as the radio station. A caller even pointed it out to him. Could they claim that Beck is Damaging Froggy's sales potential because their audience could be considered stupid? Actually, I like Beck's imaging better than the actual Froggy stations.

They could CLAIM it, but they couldn't PROVE it. But it could be a lot of fun for the lawyers, since they bill for hours worked regardless of the outcome of the lawsuit.

And, besides, who would file the siouxt? Forever, Keymarket, Burbach, WHO?
If you like those bits, listen to Beck's "Lite Rock" bits, it's Tesh on heavy medication! LOL

When Beck was the local PM drive host at WFLA/Tampa he sometimes follwed day baseball games. Anytime a game ended in the 3PM hour, the first hour of his show, he'd come out and do the rest of the hour ripping one of Cox's stations here in the market. Literally drive-off-the-road funny stuff. Too bad the national show forces him to do so much political content; he's better doing less topical stuff and more bits.<P ID="signature">______________

I just thought it was funny when a listener from Pittsburgh called and explained that they had a Froggy station in Pittsburgh! Don't get me wrong, I love the program. I was just wondering if something like that took things a bit too far.

Glenn's a radio geek, from what I hear. I'm sure he's well aware that there are "Froggy" country stations, and was well aware that his parody would probably be heard in a market with those stations.

That's not the point. He's not ripping "Froggy 98.3" or whatever frequency it's on this week, he's poking fun at the entire radio business, and deluded, clueless listeners.

Don't forget: "The Big Froggy 109-9" is a takeoff on Glenn's flagship station, "The Big Talker 1210AM" WPHT/1210 in Philadelphia. So there you go.

Ironic: Glenn's Johnstown, PA affiliate, WNTJ/850, is a sister to "Froggy 95-5."
