UHD AND THE WEATHER CHANNEL

I noticed a channel on Comcast called Universal HD, which is a another rerun type, with Hogans Heroes and Charlies Angels, but its only in HD, if you do not subscribe to HD you cannot receive it. This is the only channel that has an HD only rule, except for Paladian. Why doesn't UHD have a non-HD form, which can be viewed, if you do not subscribe to HD, seems pretty weird. Also, the Weather Channel just started to use an oldies format track, with their weather on the 8's, instead of the bland instrumentals they used to program. Maybe Tango's musical format is catching on all over the country LOL...

Universal HD was an early HD channel. It came along before most cable channels were available in HD (as well as SD). There are a few others, although maybe Comcast doesn't carry them: HDNet, HDNet Movies, MGM HD, HMC HD. ...

Originally, Universal HD were running a lot of USA programs but from a couple of years earlier. Now that USA is on HD, they seem to do less of that.

Somehow, I doubt anybody else is paying much attention to Tango. Talk about a complete waste of bandwidth.

If I remember, Universal HD started out as Bravo HD. I was showing HD shows only back when there were few HD channels. Discovery HD, now Discovery HD Theater started the same way, showing all different HD shows from all the Discovery networks.
