UHF 70+

I'm looking for all the television stations in Canada that broadcasted on a channel above 69 at one time. Obviously CITY started on 79 and CBEFT Windsor started on 78. I discovered today that CBLFT-8 in Kitchener originally broadcast on Channel 76 - something that none of the broadcasting history websites mention. The Toronto Star listed CBLFT obviously as 25 for Toronto, but noted that it was also on 76 in Kitchener. The last Starweek I looked at today was from early 1982 and it still listed channel 76 - although Starweek was known to not update their channel listings very often (e.g. CHEX Minden transmitter being listed long after deletion). Does anyone know how long Kitchener had a Channel 76?And, who else in Canada had UHF 70+ signals at one time? I think I heard about one in Quebec...

There were two very low-powered relays in Quebec in the 1960s. I'm away from my references right now but if you send me a private message (either here or to [email protected]) I'll look them up when I get home. Can't think offhand of any more besides the ones you mention and the Quebec LPs.

there was once a Channel 83 in British Columbia, the town and call letters escape me. I think there may have also once been a Channel 82 in Saskato0n, if memory serves me right

Those relays were (both relayed CJBR-TV Rimouski):
CFCV-TV1 Clermont (ch 75)
CJES-TV1 Estcourt (ch 70)

Both of these relays were gone by 1969, my copy of the 1969 McGraw-Hill Almanacdoesn't list them as operating then.

Here's a list of 70+ relays in 1981 from the Canadian Almanac & Directory:

ch 72
CHBC-TV5 Enderby/Grindrod BC (CBC//CHBC Kelowna)

ch 74
CBLFT-16 Driftwood ON (SRC//CBLFT Toronto)

ch 76
CBLFT-8 Kitchener ON (SRC//CBLFT Toronto)

ch 77
CBUBT-5 Radium Hot Springs BC (CBC//CBUT Vancouver)

ch 78
CBUHT Tabor Mountain BC (CBC//CBUT Vancouver)
CBEFT Windsor ON (SRC//CBLFT Toronto)

ch 79
CITY-TV Toronto (Ind)

ch 82
CBUT-9 Campbell River BC (CBC//CBUT Vancouver, there was also a relay on ch 3)

ch 83
CKKM-TV1 Santa Rosa BC (CTV//CHAN Vancouver)
