UHF aircheck Town talk

And a lot of Geraldo too, including a parody of the infamous Nov. 3, 1988 brawl where his nose was broken:

The Crazy Part is that Al Yankovic was targeting Geraldo, Wally George and Morton Downey Jr.

Geraldo Vs the KKK yet thats been true again in 2016 during the US Presidential Primary in some parts of the USA. Also the Al Sharpton Fight on Morton Downey at the time. Yet these things are still true but under Cable News/Talk shows. The Part where Al Yankovic said "Sex with Furniture" That makes No sense Maury Povich did not do Paternity Tests until the mid 1990's. Back Then Maury did "A Current Affair" (This show does stories that HLN Does in 2016) and the one at the end about Hookers. Jerry Springer didn't exist yet. Who was Yankovic Targeting in the Parody at both the Start and end of Town Talk via UHF Movie. I know Geraldo was targeted via the Al Capone Vault parody. In 2016 we talk about Geraldo as a male version of Megyn Kelly.

Wasn't Donahue starting to head toward the "trashy" or "controversial" route by 1988? Just five days after the Geraldo fight was taped, the Election Day 1988 (Nov. 8, 1988) episode of Donahue featured the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling:

Then another 1988 episode spot from WDTN-2 Dayton (where Phil's show first was taped from 1967-74 and channel 2 was still airing it in syndication) promoted secrets at bachelor parties: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jkaUosTrzqw

Also from '88--part 1 of the "Love Ritual" episode: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L8nqIm-oJ6s

IMO not entirely '70s/early-to-mid '80s Donahue material. But not quite to the level to being a forerunner of Springer, Maury and the ilk as the show approached its end in the early/mid 90s.

David Duke on Donahue 1992 thats when that show became more like the garbage we seen recently on the Cable News/Talk shows when Donald Trump is at play here.

Note I cannot prove that Al Yankovic was after Donahue at that point though when Town Talk was a skit in the movie UHF.

The "sex with furniture" thing I wonder if he had got that idea from Dr. Ruth who was quite popular and her show quite kinky in those days ?? If not her then maybe since Weird Al was and still is in the music biz more than likely he had probably heard some of the wild stories and kinky stuff that some of the music groups of that era did in that era and probably still do and assumed that sooner or later that sort of thing will end up being talked about on TV. Back in 1986 there was that article in Hit Parader about the rock band Motley Crue and some of the kinky stuff the magazine had mentioned that they did behind the scenes with groupies heck sex with furniture would be quite mild for them. It wouldn't surprise me at all had Jerry Springer and his staff would had got some of the ideas for his future show from that article.
