UHF REPEATERS IN MESQUITE? OR JUST MY TV?

So why would I get most of the lower UHF stations (21, 27, 33, etc, and some Spanish stations) all clustered around 73-80 instead? This is over-the-air, rabbit ears stuff...no cable, no nothing. Now it did cross my mind that I might still be on some 'cable TV' setting on my TV, but I don't see an option to arm or disarm that or to set it for "OTA" channels. So the question is, is it just my TV, or are there repeaters around town?

I do get some so-so static on the proper channels, so I can't put this anomaly totally on the TV set. Ideas?

Your TV is tuning to the cable-channel frequencies, which means you're seeing 21 on "72", 27 on "78", 33 on "74" and 39 on "80." There's a gap in the way cable frequencies are laid out, so the upper channels will be in the 100+ range - 52 on "108," 58 on "114" and 68 on "124."

Depending on the TV, there are lots of different ways to change back to regular UHF channels. It's probably somewhere in the menu settings - look for a choice of "TV/CATV."

Changing the tuner to receive off the air channels properly can be very difficult on some sets. A Philips TV we had in our guest room required calling their "customer service" number in New Delhi and waiting on perma-hold until they could figure it out. It wasn't even in the instructions. As it worked out, you had to unplug the set, hold down three buttons and re-power it to make the switch. Not exactly convenient. I didn't shed too many tears when lightning took out that TV.

Thanks to all for the input! I get it now...and I get it on Channel 71, 72, 73... ;D
