UK Fight Song 24/7 on 1630 KHZ

Who is broadcasting a continuous loop of the UK fight song on 1630 in South Lexington ? I have noticed this for a week or so, now. The audio is very distorted and can be heard all over South Lexington, but seems to be strongest around Nicholasville and New Circle Roads (right near the Clear Channel Studios).....

My guess would be Joe Beasman Hall.

I think the U.K. fight song is coming from a billboard near you.
In Louisville, there are UK billboards along the interstates and as you drive by and have your radio on 1630 AM, you will hear the song.
(The billboards have a low power transmitter on them)
:)

Darn-- I thought UK was getting a deal like U of L did with Clearchannel for its own branded station. WKRD seems to work in Louisville. I bet if WLAP turned into WKTZ and programmed sports programming to the UK brand it would up its ratings. Any thoughts?

In my opinion billboard radio stations are a waste of valuable AM spectrum, especially if you play the UK fight song over and over.. The one you are referring to must be exceeding the limits for unlicensed transmitters or is it now legal to output more than 100 mw.

I heard this today all the way to Nicholasville. This billboard has a watt or two.

I tried the one near the Fair and Expo Center in Louisville tonight, which broadcasts on 1650 AM. The signal started getting major interference from a Radio Disney affiliate and a station carrying an Iowa State basketball game once I got on I-65, but I was hearing the fight song all the way up to the St. Catherine exit.
