Ultimate Oldies Radio now on 101.1

The translator carrying Dayton's "Ultimate Oldies Radio" has moved to 101.1.

Reception reports indicate a slight improvement of coverage to the south of Dayton (Kettering, West Carrolton, Oakwood and Moraine).

How so, when it had to be done to get out of the way of yet another move-in?

Is WKSW really going to be that much more valuable as another also-ran in a dying metro area, than the only FM serving the area it does now?

As far as making money from the local market, probably not. As far as resale value, a mostly full market Dayton signla would fetch bigger bucks. Eastern report on UOR...listenable from just West of Springfield but in Springfield itself it gets wiped out by the digital hash from WEEC. Yellow Springs and Xenia pretty iffy with the Wiz.

If the WIZ was not on the same frequency, UOR would put a nice signal into Centerville and the Dayton Mall area. For now, the two seem to leapfrog each other. So when does WCWT move to 107.3 - or has this not been approved yet?

WCWT has an approved construction permit for 107.3 but I have no idea when they will move. They may need to get a new antenna (or have theirs retuned) and/or a new transmitter since they got a power upgrade with the move.

It is just good to have that format pushing out the hits to a few more of us oldies hungry ears.
