Umm...Is this thing on? (Ahem...David Lee Roth, anyone?)

Why is no one posting about the debut of Roth's show this a.m.?

I did catch the last hour of it and I must say, it was a lot better than I expected. In fact, it was light years better than anything I've heard during Barsky's pukefest and the Kidd Chris disaster. (In fact, I caught an hour of the Kidd Chris Show too and I was amazed at how they sound less organized and less interesting than ever. Saying "(BLEEP)" over and over again is not shocking anymore. We're gonna need a wee bit more content. Is it just me or did they seem way better before the time-slot change?)

Roth's was obviously a "first show" but he was waaaaaaay smoother and more collected than I thought he'd be. There were a few clear indications of the wetness behind his ears but they weren't horrible and they'll surely disappear in time.

In my opinion, he ain't saving terrestrial radio but he's surely gonna do a lot more for it than either of those other shows on Philadelphia's FREE-FM. (And why did he keep saying that "Roth 6 a.m." thing? I don't get it. Or was I misunderstanding what he was saying?)

It's very simple...as of this hour people are still shocked by the strange turn of events of this day...the likes of which haven't happened on this level since "Dewey Defeats Truman."

The events in WV are horrible...after two days of hell, to be told that the miners were alive, and then only to find out hours later that it was a mistake.

But, it won't be hard to blame the person at fault...

"George Bush doesn't care about West Virginia miners." Everyone knows that he bombed the Sago Mine just as he bombed the levees in New Orleans.

Kayne and Mr. Farrakhan must be asleep at the wheel. But Kayne's brilliance and intellect have been clearly demonstrated on this board, so it will only be a matter of time before he informs us of the truth.

But remember, you heard it here first.

Well, it's nice to know that some of us can be editorial writers one day but...what does that have to do with the topic?

I apologize...I wasn't attempting to hijack your post. Good post, I actually didn't hear David Lee Roth this morning, but I will listen myself this week.

I don't expect to be mesmorized by the show, but I'm definitely curious about it...as are others I'm sure.

It will be interesting to see the next book, and read further comments about the station in general.

What does this rant have to do with David Lee Roth? You completely lost me. Or is there a running joke here that I am not in on? Please fill me in.

It actually has nothing to do with David Lee Roth...but didn't the original post ask why there has been no comment about the show yet? I think that's what I remember, and I answered that I thought it was because of the big news story in West Virgina.

As far as the latter, I wouldn't say that it's a running joke, but yes, there has been some recent discussion about Kayne, rap music versus rock, racism, the erosion of society, and Kayne's comments about Mr. Bush.

For the record, if I took it too far, I apologize. Yes, I created the original buzz in an attempt to create a controversial discussion. Sometimes this board needs some "spicing up." I do that to stir the pot and make things interesting. Unfortunatley it got out of hand, that may be my fault. But I was very disturbed about being labeled a bigot by certain posters on this board.

Let's put it to bed.
