UNBUILT INDIAN LAKE STATION TO BE DOWNGRADED TO CLASS A

The unbuilt WNAK (105.9 FM) will be downgraded from Class C3 to class A according to an application filed with FCC. I am speculating that this is in preparation for selling the C.P. It probably was realized that it would be too costly to purchase a higher powered transmitter and purchase the amount of electric power to operate it, given the small listening audience it would have. Who do I think will buy it? Most likely the owner of Speculators new station (WYVS 96.5FM) . The 2 stations would be set up in a simulcast that would provide coverage along the main routes from Wells to near Blue Mountain Lake. Disclaimer; This is only a guess on my part.

INDIAN LAKE STATION TO BE DOWNGRADED TO CLASS A, ON THE AIR

I was told today that WNAK 105.9 Indian Lake is on the air apparently operating on the CP. According to the person I spoke with who lives in that area, it is playing continuous country music and identifying as WNAK. I understand it is operating with a roof top antenna at the home of a local ham radio operator. My guess is that the CP holder(Smith and Fitzgerald Partners of PA.) needed to get this on the air with the CP expiring soon. My guess is they( S&F) provided the equipment.
