Yes it's the same uncle bob! having worked with him and knowing that he likes flea markets, i believe his story that he found a bust of mickey mantle in lancaster. actually it was NOT stolden from Yankee Stadium......they NEVER reported it to the police! so bob tries to sell the piece on the internet; just at the time when counterfeit sports cards and signatures started to appear on the collectors market. so the feds setup a sting and they nailed him in n.y.c. after the deal was made and he walked out with a suitcase full of money. they nabbed him and made him the poster child for counterfeit sports collectibles! the post about 'hot 99'from clark imgrahm is true. Bob was such a radio factor and character in the lehigh valley, that 'hot99' was still thought of as the station that 'HAS' uncle bob. they couldn't break the image. I know, I was there as the news director with Woody Wood doing mornings. The station was supposed to be an oldies station from the get-go but Roth Broadcasting didn't want to lose the 'club' money! little did they realize that in two years from that time, Dr. Roth from Mass., and uncle to David Lee Roth, would be bankrupt and the station and the rest of his properties would be seized. at one point we were owned by the Bank of Boston and then a Pittsburgh Steel Company.....we called it owner du jour!!!! we would see who could get to the bank the fastest with their paycheck !!!!! then it was Joey and I in the mornings on Oldies 99.9. two guys who grewup on southside easton and knew the valley. we never rehersed a bit. everything was spontanious! oddly enough it worked adequetly, since we had NO $$$$ for promotions; in fact we called it the Wing and a Prayer Broadcast Company !!!
