Uncle O and Power 99

There is a warrant out for Uncle O's arrest.

Philadelphia Police confirmed last night that a warrant has been issued for the arrest of Power 99's Uncle O, real name Tracy Jackson, after the radio host allegedly pulled a gun on a club owner early Sunday. He'll be charged with aggravated assault, said Capt. Ben Naish. The DJ had cohosted a live broadcast at Club Samba (7th & Girard) and, after arguing outside the club with its owner Justin Love, O allegedly got into his black Jeep Cherokee, leveled a handgun at Love and told him: "I will shoot you in the f---ing face," an eyewitness told us yesterday.

While hopefully staying out of the racist controversy, it does make a mockery of their Peace On The Streets campaign.

I remember listening a couple months ago and hearing one of their afternoon DJs kind of stop in the middle of what he was saying and confess to the radio audience that he'd just heard that his family member (cousin, brother, I can't remember) had been shot and killed. The guy was very emotional and it was kind of a stunning mix of frustration and anger as he pleaded with the community to stop all the violence.

I was surprised that they let a guy in that situation even go on the air because there's no telling what they might say right after their cousin's been killed, but they probably didn't even know about it until he was already in the studio. It was a very passionate plea for reason and peace, and really out of character from anything else I've ever heard not only on Power 99 but on any station at that hour.

Does anybody know the guy's name? Did anyone else listen to this or hear about it, because I know I didn't imagine it.
