UNCLE VIC'S WACKOS!

Were most of WGCL's Uncle Vic's Sunday night wackos other jocks or friends of his? I know some were authemtic Cleveland area weirdos, like The Yodeler & Echo Man, but I remember Vic talking about taking Howard Belcher & Max the Union Man with him to high school dances with the "G-98 Dance Machine"- taking characters along not dressed up or something would ruin the illusion of the radio wackos, don't cha think? Also once he had the Arabian character(forget his name) take over on the air while he supposedly went to get food across the street & Vic called from a payphone outside the window when they were still at 15th & Chester & was putting people on the air outside.

I remember "The Bagman" who was totally spaced out on that show, he always said "What's going on dude" when answering the phone and talking to listeners, and had the dumbest jokes that had no punch line. Some caller's would said "What do you look like Bagman? His reply was always "I don't know man, my eyes don't go that far", I have a couple of recordings of Vic with Bagman, and Bagman always stopped the record short by turning off the turntable before the end of the 45 record, or started the record up to late while halfway thru the song, or even played the wrong speed and he played a weird audio cart that just said "Zazmats"

Bagman was Rick(Eric) Kramer-I talked to him on the phone years ago & he said he had to cut the Bagman's life short 'cause it was hard on the vocal cords. "Farrr out maaaannnn".

Ronald Reagan & Dr. Loose Westheimer were a couple others.

I was Echoman. I was a Freshman in high school in North Canton, with designs of being on the radio one day. I was just searching Google to see whatever happened to Vic and found this board. Pretty funny.

I couldn't tell you what the hell I did... or why I was echoing. But, I remember it was fun. There's a remote chance there's a cassette in a box someplace with some audio on it. Dunno.

Anyway... I got on the radio eventually. I'm doing mornings on an Alternative station.

@jmolson-Cool! I have a few unscoped cassettes with you on them from Uncle Vic Shows from 83-84. I was also a freshman in high school. Were you possibly using a Radio Shack reverb unit? :p
