Unconfirmed station at 93.3

I was DX'ing around 9:00 EST on October 19th when I heard an unconfirmed station at 93.3 playing "Rock Your Body" by Justin Timberlake. This was at 8:56 PM. I then heard what might have been the same station again 12 minutes later. They were playing "Cool" by Gwen Stefani at this point.

I was able to eliminate all four of the CHR's at 93.3 east of the Mississippi.

I heard this station in Coldwater, Michigan.
______________

It can be one of either two stations. I looked these up on w9wi's TV and radio station database. It is organized by frequency or TV channel

Jamestown, ND KSJZ
El Cajon, CA KHTS

More than likely you were picking up the Jamestown ND station

I found the Jamestown station after I made my first post. They have a website, but it is very sloppy and there is no way to e-mail anybody at KSJZ, but only at their sister station, which is a AM country station.

I still have my radio set to 93.3. Hearing lots of meteor scatter this morning.
______________

Looking at their Mediabase 24 Hour log from yesterday, I can eliminate KHTS / El Cajon - San Diego for you.

Keep in mind, with those two records being heard, it's possible you could have been hearing a Hot AC, also.

KMXV Kansas City? Both songs would definately be heard on the Infinity CHR Outlet out of Kansas City.

Did you have other eSkip or longhaul trop coming in? I'm not familiar with those songs but a little closer to you would be Lite 93.3 out of Asheville (Columbus), Ohio.

I was able to eliminate Lite 93.3 as they have John Tesh at that time. Kansas City wasn't playing either of those songs at that time. I later found out that there was indeed some (very) out of season e-skip on Wednesday Night, so I may have been getting some of that.

I'm just going to put this one in as another unconfirmed mystery station. Maybe i'll catch something else at 93.3 tonight.

It could have been Coast 93.3 WSNE from Providence, RI. They are Hot AC and do play those songs.
______________

Sure it wasn't WERO "bob 93-3" in Greenville, NC?
______________

It wasn't WERO. Mediabase log doesn't match up to what he's reporting here.

I'd wager it was a small town "Hits and Favorites" satellite station.

What about Z93??

I would say probably 93.3 WIZM from Lacrosse, WI. That seems to be the closest to where you are. Do you know what mode you received this station by? Tropo, Meteor Scatter or E-Skip? That would help in identifying the station.

:)
