Just heard this at about 4:40 PM EST on 1330. It had a syndicated Talk Format in English. It was coming in quite well. I thought I'd wait until 5:00 PM and hear more information and an ID, but at just after 4:45 EST, it changed power and or pattern, and just disappeared. Any ideas as to what it was? In SE Michigan, pattern change is at 5:15 PM in November. So it's out East somewhere, in the vicinity of 75 degrees longitude. Usually, WKTA booms in at about that time. WHBL occasionally. WYRD has a significant lobe at Night toward SE Michigan, so it wouldn't just disappear. What is on WWRV this time of day? Isn't it foreign language? WRCA? I'll check details before any of you answer.
 
I didn't get many details on the Talk Format, but the facilities change time and approximate direction, along with a general English Language Talk type format, along with the actual facilities, 5000 Watts Day, 36 Watts Night, Nondirectional U1, point to WEBO Owego, NY.

WEBY (Pensacola area)? They run mostly canned talk on their 25kw signal before dropping to 'flea power" at night. Directional, but most recently not very much so. The only thing that doesn't fit is power down time.

I have TWICE heard WEBO from upstate NY down here in PA -- both times during nocturnal paint jobs or cabinetry work.

In pitch darkness ouside.

One fine Autumn evening a few years ago they were broadcasting some high school football game.

After a while, they beame a downright pest.
 
In this case, WEBO, or whatever it was, appears to have reduced power greatly, and on time. Quite few stations may revert to PSA power levels or higher during High School Football PBP.
