Universal Sports missing from WVIT DT-3

I believe this was done in all markets who had them as a sub-channel, not just Hartford/New Haven. Too bad the NBC Sportschannel can't go there in its place. Ha ha!

Here in the Boston area, it was seen on WBIN 50.2 and has been replaced with ABCs Live Well network. It's everywhere, not just your area.

I mention it as having been "already gone" as this information was not new and it was slated to be removed from ALL subchanel OTA and moved to cable and sat only (this apparently so far only means DirecTV) as of 1/2/12, but it was apparently done much sooner. I also have grapevine information that says WVIT does not have plans to replace it with anything at sub position 3 anhy time soon.

I got home at 12:45AM Sunday Morning (Saturday Night and it was already gone. Note the on-screen guide said Off Air beginning at 12AM Sunday Morning).

On Channel 295 on COMCAST it's just a blank screen.

On Channel 803 on COX on the screen it says that WVIT will no longer be broadcasting Universal Sports as of December 31, 2011.

Same with WNBC on Cablevision 119

What was the intention of the Universal Sports Network? I occasionally would tune in and see what appeared to be old Olympics highlights. There never seemed to be any rhyme or reason to what was airing at any given time. It never seemed like a network that would have any mass appeal. I would have a hard time believing it could be successful as a standalone cable network.

I thought it was going away on 1/2/12?

You're probably confusing US with NBC Sports Network, to which the Versus network changed its name to on 1/2/12.

How US and NBCSN will both coexist in this already vast cable universe is beyond me.
