New dance Pirate in Miami calling itself Eruption FM... Good clean audio in stereo,,, and has Anouncers on the mic giving shoutouts to their friends, and heard Adverts for Club Space,, some restaraunts and other clubs,,, sometimes its on 92.1 and sometimes its on 93.5.....Pick a freq a stick with it for petes sake... Good selection of DJ mixing both mainstream and underground Proggresive stuff... I heard mentions of a website and stream as well, but cant find it, maybe the stream is 24/7, but they only come on air friday and saturday nights. I wont mention exactly where in Miami I heard this station, but its not a monster flame thrower,,, maybe a 5 mile radius coverage.

Its back on air, and the stream is up too, if ya wanna check it out.... As long as they stay at fairly low power and on clear frequiencys they should be alright... I know of them haitain, Cuban, and reggae pirates that have been on for like 5 yrs, some are set right next to legal stations using thoughsands of watts.... I doubt the weak signal garners much more than advertisement for the stream,,, but at least is a new net station reppin Miami...

The Internet stream is fine (if they're paying the royalties) but a pirate station doesn't really help the perception of dance music. For example, in the Newark NJ area, most of the pirate stations have a Carribean or reggae format. Whenever I hear that kind of music anywhere (even when it's being played somewhere besides a radio station), my first thought is "this is the kind of music pirate stations play".

Let's bet it will stay on for years to come. If the pirate station somehow makes an impact in the Arbitron ratings, that shows a demand for a dance station in Miami. The former Party 102.5 pirate in Tampa caused a station on 102.5 90 miles away to get into the Tampa ratings with about a .3 share, despite the fact that the 102.5 that got in the ratings was inaudible anywhere. And a few years ago, a Spanish FM pirate station in Philly wiped out the ratings of a licensed AM Spanish station while the pirate was on the air.

I dont think it will stay on air,,, probably be gone by summer,,, and if they do create a buzz, they will just get busted anyway... i just wanted to point out that I heard it.... Probably a hobbyiest that will soon tire of it.

Was this the 1000 watt pirate that was busted today? Or is it enjoying less interference now that an adjacent-channel pirate was busted?
